Our future in your hands
LATEST NEWS:
The consultations have now finished and the Falmouth Neighbourhood Plan is currently being updated to reflect the emerging Site Allocations Development Plan for Falmouth and Penryn, and the comments made during the consultation process.

The Neighbourhood Plan is an opportunity for everyone in Falmouth to influence the decisions that will affect our town
It can control the way that land is used for housing, business, shops and leisure. It could also protect green spaces and
influence the design of buildings, tackle difficult issues and support the things that make Falmouth an exceptional
place to live, work and visit
.

Following extensive community engagement in 2015 and 2016, and intensive activity  by community working groups and local stakeholder organisations, the Falmouth Neighbourhood Development Plan has now been published for further community engagement.
The period for making comments on the draft Plan runs from 23rd December through to the 17th February 2017.

FALMOUTH NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN

FINAL FEW DAYS TO HAVE YOUR SAY

Save our Falmouth committee members have served on the Falmouth Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group and have contributed to the draft plan which is now out for public consultation until 17th Feb. To view the plan and comment via the on-line form go to www.planforfalmouth.info. Alternatively you can view the plan and comment at Falmouth Library. Also, final drop - in sessions will be held in the foyer of Falmouth Library this Saturday from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.  (not on The Moor as previously announced) and at Falmouth School this coming Wednesday (15th) from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.when you can view the plan and ask questions of members of the Steering Group.

Many Falmouth residents, over the years, have seen any number of initiatives, plans and development proposals for the town which have come to nothing. The Neighbourhood Plan is different, it is a document which will have legal status; consequently, it will need to have majority support from Falmouth residents who vote in a referendum to be held later in the year. The plan offers the opportunity to control the spread of HMOs (principally student accommodation), ensures housing schemes/developments conform to strict guidelines on size, design and community impact, and also protects over 140 cherished green spaces from development.

Please take this final opportunity to make your opinions known and help ensure that the Falmouth Neighbourhood Plan is the best it can be to shape the future of our special town.
